Welcome to the fabulous, 10th Planet Las Vegas and Downtown Las Vegas! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Casey Halstead, I am an owner of multiple martial arts academies located within Las Vegas, Nevada, and Orange County, California. The martial art of Jiu Jitsu introduces the element of ground fighting and helps to build confidence, discipline, and self-esteem to any individual who is willing to learn. As an owner, I strive to bring every gym a multitude of world-class instructors that meet the demand and goals of athletes or casual everyday practitioners.
What is Jiu Jitsu?
Jiu Jitsu is based on the founding principle that, with proper technique and grit, a smaller individual may overcome and defeat an opponent of any size. This martial art focuses on bringing physical confrontations to the ground while giving anyone the ability to overcome any obstacle with perseverance, regardless of athleticism and strength. Giving power to the powerless is a concept that is well regarded in jiu jitsu. Martial arts’ builds resilience, self-discipline, and confidence to practitioners. Stress management along with the realization of self-worth are other benefits that result from the practice of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu.

We are focused and dedicated on bringing communities the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in Nogi Jiu Jitsu and Self-Defense all while having fun in a safe, clean, and nonjudgmental environment.
YOUTH JIU JITSU
The 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu kids class curriculum is based on giving your kids the ability to walk around school with confidence, while gifting them the attributes of self-discipline, patience, and wellness. We focus on anti-bullying techniques and strive to prepare our youth to become leaders and productive members of their community. Jiu Jitsu for kids include many benefits such as increasing flexibility, muscle endurance, and development of problem-solving skills. Learning Jiu Jitsu promotes self-discipline while simultaneously increasing the use of problem solving skills and brain function.
NOGI JIU JITSU
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu revolves around the concept of training without the use of the Kimono. Our belief is that this will bring our students a more realistic view of fighting and actual overall practicality of self-defense scenarios. Because we believe that you do not need the use of the Gi/Kimono to fully experience the essence of Jiu Jitsu, our philosophy branches off from the traditional and focuses on modern techniques that will mold you into a true martial artist.
What Makes Our Academy Different?
One of the things that sets us apart from other Academies is that we keep our pillars of success in view at all times. We firmly believe that focusing on these five Pillars you will see tremendous personal growth, 1. Family 2. Education 3. Team 4.Health and Fitness 5. Jiu Jitsu. We also pride ourselves in culture. We have a very strong youth program and encourage parent participation. We have had many parents start Jiu Jitsu as a result of seeing the changes in their children. We are an all-inclusive academy and believe Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. We keep things simple and are always looking for ways to improve.

10th Planet is still a very young association, this presents a unique tie to the Master and founder of 10th Planet Eddie Bravo. Our Instructors train and The aim of each of our instructors is to assist and engage students in reaching and surpassing their own personal goals as martial artists. Whether your mission revolves around fitness, personal development, self-defense, or competition, we bring a well-rounded atmosphere to suit your needs.
10th Planet Las Vegas
10th Planet Las Vegas is located in the beautiful city of Henderson NV. Twenty minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and 20 min from the Airport. We are conveniently located near a Sprouts, Starbucks, The Galleria Mall, and across the street from Sunset Station.
10th Planet Downtown Las Vegas
10th Planet Downtown Las Vegas is located in the heart of The Fremont District. If you are interested in nightlife or dinner, this is your spot. We have full his and her locker rooms equipped with showers and towel service.
Message From Owner Casey Halstead
I started my martial arts training as a child. My first exposure to Martial Arts was Wrestling. I wrestled for the local youth club, and much like everyone else of my generation Karate and the eastern arts played a big part in my development. I would dabble in various forms of Karate and wrestling on and off for most of my teen years. Later as an adult, I was feeling a little stuck and started to feel the urge to train again. Fast forward many years, my business partner (Ron) and I trained at an academy that was very old school and it was exactly what we needed at the time. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fundamentals were second to none and gave us an amazing base that we still use to this day.
When it was time to open our own Academy we decided to take all the good experiences that we’ve accumulated from all the instructors we’ve ever had and eliminate what we didn’t like. Our first location was 10th Planet Costa Mesa. The first goal was to create an environment that would be based on five pillars. 1. Family 2. Education 3. Team 4.Health and Fitness 5. Jiu Jitsu. We knew very early that if we wanted to compete in this space we needed to have a different angle. In summary, we are a gym that is Family First, politic free, innovative and encourage growth as a Human and Martial Artist.
